I usually have about 30 minutes for it to digest, and because it's a shake it isn't that heavy. Still, it's always a toss-up whether it's better to work-out on an empty stomach with the body in starvation-mode or work-out with a shake in the stomach because there's not enough time to let it fully digest. That's Insanity (snicker). I like a good N.O. Xplode before a morning work out, especially on an empty stomach.
