I am doing p90 now and have replaced the cardio with the cardio/plyo interval from insanity. I am hoping that I get the best of both.

You'll get those muscle groups worked, just not in the same concentration that focused strength conditioning would give you. Oddly enough, I tried doing some bicep curls earlier today and my strength HAS improved the past few weeks; however, I also I did pull-ups and those stayed roughly the same. Take it for what it's worth, but again, this is more about cardio conditioning and muscle endurance more-so than raw strength training.

It's not so bad... I usually have about 30 minutes for it to digest, and because it's a shake it isn't that heavy. Still, it's always a toss-up whether it's better to work-out on an empty stomach with the body in starvation-mode or work-out with a shake in the stomach because there's not enough time to let it fully digest.

I can't believe you wake up and eat a protein shake BEFORE you do Insanity. That's Insanity (snicker). I like a good N.O. Xplode before a morning work out, especially on an empty stomach.

It may just be me, but I can't get as good of a workout if I have a heavy shake in my stomach.

Brad, I've heard about it but haven't pursued it. Not sure how easy it would be to do on top of everything else! Good luck on the Fit Test, though. It's definitely a workout in and of itself.

That's funny. Somebody found my site the same way. I probably would have a 6 pack if it was not for the beer.

As far as measuring body fat%, the bio electrical method is sometimes seen as more accurate than the calipers but calipers in the hands of an experienced person are actually pretty accurate. Electrical methods can be thrown off easily due to hydration level, whether you have eaten or not, ETC. But on another note. Nice results. I am going to start p90x soon, can't wait to see the results.
